Bridgewater dorm suspected as site of delivery

Multiple Bridgewater College students confirmed Saturday that the 19-year-old female who allegedly delivered a baby and proceeded to throw it in a dumpster was a resident of the college’s Geisert Hall.
 
Although the student’s name is unknown at this time, students said the incident occurred in one of Geisert’s second floor dormitory restrooms.

The search for the infant’s body, which was taken from the dumpster to the Rockingham County Landfill last weekend, was terminated Tuesday afternoon. As reported in The Breeze Thursday, Rockingham Sheriff Department spokesperson Sgt. Felicia Glick said the probability of finding evidence that a coroner could evaluate was “near-impossible.”

Bridgewater Campus Police declined to comment on the situation.
