Irvin’s CD has orginial lyrics, sweet melodies

80 One Records artist keep things unique on album

With move-out day around the corner, most of us are in search of the perfect soundtrack for the long car ride home.  Look no further, because 80 One Records artist Eddie Cain Irvin is sure to get the job done with his album, Life Die Life Dedicated.

Irvin is behind the piano and vocals, creating the smooth, piano pop-rock sounds throughout the album. When playing live, Irvin is supported by the musical expertise of John Michael Kronstain on drums and Phil Vincent Saraceno on bass. This trio has collaborated to create a self-described sound of “James Taylor twisted up with Jason Mraz’s rhythms and Ben Folds’ piano.”

Life Die Life Dedicated is full of 12 unique and solid tracks. Irvin created original lyrics accompanied with sweet melodies. One goal he had for the album was “to produce music that explores all types of different emotions” and he certainly managed to attain that goal with this album.  It provides 38 minutes of easy listening and engaging lyrics. According to Irvin, the progression of the tracks is intended to “carry listeners on a ride all the way to the end of the album.”

Although he had previously written portions of the album before recording, the majority of Life Die Life Dedicated was completed over the span of three months.  In the process of finishing the CD, he exchanged three songs for fresher material. To produce this top quality album, Irvin also asked for opinions of friends to receive feedback on the mixes and song order.  Irvin described their main focus as “keeping the album energy high by switching songs around and creating a sweet product.”

With the release of the album last fall, Irvin has spent the year promoting it. They have played a variety of shows in local venues and various events on the JMU campus.

Time is running out to catch this talented trio perform before the end of the year, so to get the latest information about upcoming shows and dates visit his Myspace page, myspace.com/eddiecainirvin or eddiecain.com. The CD is available at the UPB office, located in Warren Hall, or at the JMU Bookstore.
