Letter to the Editor: JMU leaves great impression

I wanted to congratulate the university on the recent CHOICES Open House for early admission students. The entire day was well-planned, ran smoothly and on time, and the students we encountered were helpful and happy—many who were not wearing purple volunteer T-shirts also went out of their way to answer questions or show us the proper building. One freshman student walked us to our building and told us about his major in biology and how much he liked it there. It put a nice spin on just how open some of the students are to assisting others and perhaps remembering their college selection days.
My daughter went to the Open House to have questions answered and left JMU feeling good about the students and faculty we met. You can be proud of your school and how you present yourselves.  We enjoyed sharing our day with you.
