The Phi Eta Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha will regaintheir charter back this semester after losing it due to alcohol violations they received back in 1997.
To regain the charter, the chapter had to meet requirements in a series of 14 standards established by the national organization. These standards include: having 80 percent of men active in extracurricular events, having a GPA higher than the all-men’s average for the campus, and havnig membership equal to the average for the campus.
Lambda Chi became a recognized colony in 2005, but faced limitations as to what they could do, such as being excluded from voting in certain Inner Fratnernity Council elections.
President Ian Hallada submitted the chartering application earlier this semester and it should be finalized by the end of the semester.
