Cabaret for a Cause
Regional drag queens step out, raise money for Valley AIDS Network
Platinum blond wigs, elaborate false eyelashes, crimson red lipstick
and extravagantly sequined dresses overtook the College Center Grand
Ballroom Sunday night for JMU's first annual cabaret show.
Sponsored by the University Health Center and the University Program
Board, the night was dedicated to raising money for the Valley AIDS
Network.
Madison Motorsports revvs up for car show
Madison Motorsports and the Shenandoah Valley community start
their engines at noon this Saturday for the second annual motorshow.
Students and community members will roll out in style to the ISAT
C10 parking lot to show off their wheels and vie for a prize.
The Donnas bring bad-girl vibe to JMU
Don't let their looks fool you. At first glance The
Donnas may look like cute and innocent girls, but they are a hard-rocking,
hard-partying bunch. The Donnas' concert at the College Center
Grand Ballroom Monday night was pure rock 'n' roll, loud
guitars, pounding drums and tons of energy.
Break Dance Club host Circles 4
This Saturday the Godwin gymnasium will be transformed into a
hip-hop mecca. Break dancers from all over the East coast will flock
to JMU to participate in Circles 4, a break dancing competition.
'What if...' comic enters real realm
Back in my comic book collecting days when life seemed
as pristine as any 32-page magazine sealed in the timeless air lock
of its plastic, cardboard-backed case there was one book
on the racks at my local comic book store that I would pick up frequently
and browse through before being told by the owner that his store
was not a library.
Technology dictates life of Generation Y
I know I traditionally present this column to you regarding what's
new, up-and-coming and cutting edge in regard to technology, but
today's topic is a bit more heavy.
Undoubtedly there is a certain breed of individuals reading this
column every other week. This breed of people can agree with me
that our world operates on two levels.
