SAVED

Envelopes, like bricks, link in a white, paper wall that blankets a folding table on the Convocation Center floor. Outside each envelope is the name of a church. Inside each envelope is the name of a new-found or rededicated Christian — someone who was "saved" Saturday night at Springfest in the Valley.

Brickman romances audiences with piano stylings

Wilson Auditorium was filled with the sweet and romantic sounds of the pianist Jim Brickman on Thursday night. Brickman, a popular pianist and songwriter, made a successful first appearance at JMU with his concert entitled "An Evening of Romance with Jim Brickman," which was sponsored by JMU’s Masterpiece Season Encore Series.

‘Cruel and Unusual’ movie receives praise, awards at student film fest

Fighting "the Man," intense staring contests, searing social commentary and innocent romance were just some of the themes behind this year's lineup at the Student Film Festival.
