The men’s tennis team swept all three doubles matches and defeated
Washington and Lee University 5-1 Tuesday at the Convocation Center
Tennis Courts in their last regular season match.
Junior Martin Rohricht and sophomore John Snead won at No. 1 doubles
and improved their season record to 14-1.
Seniors Craig Anderson and Colin Malcolm won at No. 2 doubles
8-5 and the No. 3 doubles team of junior David Emery and freshman
Brian Clay won 8-2.
The Dukes also took four of five singles matches as Snead, Rohricht,
Anderson and Clay all won their respective matches. Emery’s No.
1 singles match was halted due to rain in the third set.
The win is JMU’s ninth team victory in a row. The win improved
its record to 11-8 for the season.
The Dukes will look to continue their good fortune Friday at the
Colonial Athletic Association Championships at the College of William
and Mary.
No. 5 seed JMU will take on the No. 4 seeded University of North
Carolina-Wilmington in the first round. |
