ECP issue causes stir
Students petition BOV decision
With a 7-6 vote last Friday, the JMU Board of Visitors discontinued
the sale of the emergency contraceptive pill at JMU, creating a
commotion on campus. The University Health Center is allowed still
to prescribe ECPs.
BOV raises tuition, fees
Latest increase is third in less than one year
Raising both tuition and monetary awards for faculty, the Board
of Visitors made decisions last Friday impacting the future of JMU.
According to the Summary of Action by the board, tuition and fees
will be raised to $5,058 for in-state commuter students from $4,458.
In-state students residing on campus will have their tuition and
fees raised to $10,794 from $10,026.
Students, groups receive honors
The 2003 Student Organization Services Leadership Celebration
honored students and organizations for their "Legacy of Leadership"April
16 in the College Center Grand Ballroom. Fourteen awards were presented
at the annual event.
Class films community in action
Over a 24-hour period beginning midnight Tuesday until midnight
Wednesday, more than 40 School of Media Arts & Design students,
faculty and alumni filmed "One Day, One Community."
