Despite ‘pork,’ highway bill brings improvement

Think of the pothole that seems to reappear in the driveway
every winter, then remember the extra sleep you used to get before
traffic tacked on an extra 30 minutes to every commute to work.
With the U.S. House of Representatives’ recent 357-65 passing
of a major $275 billion highway and transit funding bill, those
nuisances hopefully will fade over the next six years.

Former editor’s wisdom: make most of college
On the sidelines
Growing up, I had always heard older people reminiscing
about their college days, about how they were the "best
days of their lives" and that everyone should "make the
most of their college experience." I’d usually roll my eyes
and think to myself that they were just hitting a midlife
crisis or something.
JMU professors lack etiquette
So I was thinking…
As an in-state student, I pay upwards of
$10,000 to attend JMU, part of which goes toward class tuition.
I once heard that each class at JMU costs in the neighborhood
of $40 per class. To make sure that I get my full $40 worth,
I attend class regularly...
