Sophomore First Year Orientation Guides (FROGs) Abby Fitzgibbon and Ashley Lakner opened the envelope Friday morning and pulled out the clue list. Their group, the Chesapeake Hall Barracudas, huddled around to read the list over their shoulders. Lakner scanned the page, found a clue for 200 points, and the group ran to complete its first piece of the Centennial Challenge.

The challenge, a massive new scavenger hunt planned during freshman orientation week, included clues aimed at getting the FROG groups — whose members are termed "tadpoles" by the FROGs — familiar with the layout and resources of JMU and the city of Harrisonburg.

For 55 points, FROGs and tadpoles could "learn the FROG dance and present it to an OPA on the sundial." Picking "yo’self up a menu" at Madison Grill brought 30 points and learning how to register to vote gave teams 60 points.

The rest of the Centennial Challenge task list read like a MasterCard commercial with over 20 other point opportunities.

FROGs and their tadpoles had just over two hours to gain as many points as possible.

The team with the most points will have its name engraved on a plaque.
