Kerry encourages students to vote
Daughter of presidential nominee speaks to crowd in Transitions

Vanessa Kerry, the eldest daughter of U.S. Senator and Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry, spoke to a crowd in Transitions last Thursday, and encouraged students to participate in the election process.

Faculty to receive merit-based raises :JMU will give merit-based 3 percent raises to faculty in December. The raise comes after an across-the-board pay raise that all faculty received in July. Campus offers STD education : The rate of sexually transmitted diseases is not rising at JMU, but the amount of awareness and testing is, according to Ann Simmons, coordinator of Health Promotion.

Students encouraged to invest in insurance :An AFLAC insurance agent spoke Friday to students about special insurance rates that student employees and faculty can receive through the university.
